Hotel Accountant

​

Responsibilities: 

​

As an integral member of the Ryland Financial Team, the Hotel Accountant will assist with the following:

​

  • Responsible to prepare a monthly financial reporting package

  • Responsible for the full cycle accounting for a portfolio of hotels, restaurant and conference centre

  • Prepare all bank and credit card reconciliations on monthly basis

  • Responsible for all monthly GST, PST, and hotel tax filings

  • Responsible for all accounts payable and accounts receivable

  • Prepare and process payroll for 150-200 employees

  • Gratuity allocation for hourly conference and restaurant employees

  • Experience with third party payroll software: ADP, Ceridian

  • Issuance and preparation of all T4 and ROE’s

  • Maintain the cash flow report on a weekly basis, provide cash call instructions to head office

  • Assist with night audit reconciliation and bank deposits

  • Prepare monthly financial reports such as:

  • Profit and loss statements

  • Budget vs. Actuals – Report any variances to ownership group

  • Responsible for Year End external accountant review engagement

  • ​

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Diploma in Accounting or Business or related experience, a professional designation would be an asset

  • Knowledge with Quick books, Excel, Word

  • Proficiency in systems including strong Excel skills
